There seems to be a double standard between what I read in the inability of additional offshore drilling to bring gas prices down, and all the showcasing of the affect of Hurricane Gustav on keeping oil prices higher.

It all seems to be such a scam. It seems that oil companies are darn quiet about if and when they are building refineries; but make a lot of noise if given new potential to do so.

That was a good speech. I posted it on my blog too. I have a question for you though. What do you think the media will say about the Clintons now that they have thrown their full support without showing any dismay.

What I was left craving for was a proper, head on tackle on her primary comments questioning Obama’s experience. The single biggest issue keeping her supporters from getting behind Obama is after all experience, and this speech didn’t really do much to address that.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year-old Texas rancher whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.

Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President.

The old rancher said, ‘Well, ya know, Obama is a ‘post turtle.’

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a ‘post turtle’ was.

The old rancher said, ‘When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a ‘post turtle’.

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face, so he continued to explain.

‘You know he didn’t get up there by himself, he doesn’t belong up there, he doesn’t know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumb ass put him up there in the first place.

Despite the Dems and the allied main stream media’s desperation to see Romney as McCain’s Veep, Mitt is clearly out, with (1) Obama doubling down on the class warfare theme (McCain’s 7 houses) and (2) McCain doubling down with ads showing the hypocrisy of Biden attacking Obama in the primaries — Romney did way more than that contra McCain.

This leaves only Govs Sarah Palin and Tim Pawlenty. Pro-abortion Ridge and Dem-Lieberman were never real considerations, despite relentless media goading. Pawlenty’s lackluster TV performances, coupled with Palin pizzazz, the primacy of oil drilling and the ticked off women/Hillary voters, does now portend a McCain/Palin checkmate on the Dems. This is so albeit the Dems and liberal media dare not mention Palin’s name, that is, everyone but…..

And if there’s any question as to Palin being uniquely positioned and able to more than nullify Biden in debate, see the excellent discussion at palinforvp.blogspot.com

Oil production needs to increase, but why subject the world to new pollution or contamination risk.

There is plenty of oil in desert environments (middle eastern oil fields)that can be tapped, if only the world had the political will to do so.

Before 1973 almost all of the world oil production (including middle eastern) was controlled by 2 british companies and 4 U.S. companies.

In 1973 many OPEC member nations unilaterally cancelled longterm lease agreements that were signed in the 1920s.

Eversince these agreements were cancelled, we’ve been given the proverbial shaft.

It’s time to end this OPEC cartel once and for all.

We don’t need to drill in Alaska or off shore. We simply need to retake the oil fields by force if necessary.

We would not allow a person withhold insulin from a diabetic.

There are moral imperatives to one’s rights.

OPEC seriously needs to learns this.

Let’s stop the blame game and get to the real issue. The clowns in congress are not going to do a damn thing about this crisis until they figure a way for it to buy votes. Bush, Clinton, Bush and the fools in congress are the ones that led us into this situation. There should not be another wasted minute. Tell the world we are going to start drilling and the speculators will bail out and the price of oil will fall. We need to drill here and now, start planning new refineries, nuclear power plants, uses for the worlds largest deposit of coal, wind and solar power, and of course conservation. When the midterm elections come around I will not vote for anyone in office now and if they run unopposed I will stay home. Enough is enough!!

PS: Al Gore is an idiot!!
